Cams dont fail that quick in my experience but an injector tip or glo plug tip coming off can smash things up pretty quick. Unburnt fuel can be lack of atomisation (bad spray) or lack of compression from a damaged piston or bent valve from one of those tips smashing things. Good luck and let us know
